Here Mandy one of our preschool teachers, invites students to experiment with static electricity as part of a integrated unit about insects.

Each day starts with children being able to choose which of the activities in the room the teacher has presented for the day. There is always block building, dramatic play, art exploration, sensory and fine motor activities. Then they will have time to meet together as a class to welcome each other, sing some songs and talk about the day. They may go to a specialist class, perhaps going to do some singing with Ashley in Music and Movement or heading to the library, before or after snacktime. After a little more learning time, they will head outside for some fun riding trikes, digging in the sandbox or running around. Soon it is time for lunchtime and then rest time where some children will nap and some children will have some quiet time. The afternoon has a relaxed pace responding to the children’s needs before coming together for an end of the day goodbye circle.
